My poor baby Cooper is getting his top two teeth. They are almost through--and causing him so much pain! Poor kid! Plus his nose is running like no one's business which then causes the cough and the constantly wet shirts from all the drool. I can hear him right now trying to fall asleep. He's such a happy baby that it's hard to see him be so miserable! Hopefully they will come through in the next day or two and he'll be back to his old self! :)

What we've been up to...

It's nice to be posting again--December was kind of a crazy month for us. I'm sure it was for you too! We not only had Christmas, but we also had my parents over for a week (so fun, I miss them TONS!) and Landen got his Tonsils out. He's doing much better now--he keeps saying his throat is gone, which is his way of saying it doesn't hurt anymore. haha

He really did amazing the day of the surgery. We had to be at the hospital at 5:30 and we waited around for about an hour until the doctor came in. They took him from us and put him in a little wagon and wheeled him back to the room. He didn't even fuss at all. I thought we were going to have a screaming fit!! But only 20 minutes later they called us back--he was finished and starting to wake up. The nurses all said he was doing amazing, that he wasn't even crying. I snuggled up to him on the little hospital bed and waited for him to open his eyes. He didn't cry once. After he woke up a little bit they sent us upstairs to our own room. An hour after surgery he had eaten two slushies, two things of ice cream, a soda, and a popsicle. The nurse said that usually they have a hard time getting tonsil patients to even eat half a slushy all day long. haha--that's my Landen! He's all about the food! They made the mistake of giving us the room next to the snack area. Every time we went on a walk around the hospital floor (which was about every 5 minutes) he would make me grab him some jello, or a pudding, or some cheese. The kid couldn't stop eating! who would have thought? I told the nurse that they were going to need to restock the snack bar when we left! :) He didn't even take a nap. You wouldn't even be able to tell he had surgery. The kid is a machine! We did have a hard time getting him to take his medicine though---I'm not sure why they couldn't make it taste better! So we had a couple hard nights at home, but we are doing good now!!!

Is it just blogger that makes your pics look so fuzzy? I've sharpened them for the web and resized them and everything and they still don't look like the originals! Does anyone know?

I just love the week before Halloween! We're doing all sorts of creepy things around our house! We've made caramel apples, read all of our Halloween books, went to a Halloween party, and bought our favorite Halloween cereal! I'm going to be sad when it's all over.. but at least we have Christmas to look forward to!

If you have boys than you know how they are--everything becomes a weapon of sorts. I saw Logan even chew down his toast until it was gun shaped. haha And Landen's new obsession is Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles. A fun throw back to when I was little. I remember my brothers jumping off the couch with their foam Knumchucks and screaming "Cowabunga!" It makes me happy that Landen is having the same experience! I'm hoping to get him some really cool TMNT stuff online for Christmas!

Finding lost minutes

I'd been frustrated the last couple of days because I just don't have enough time to do everything I want to do. If I spend too much time scrapbooking then I feel guilty about not spending that time with my kids and I'm not getting my house as clean as I want, I just felt kind of bogged down. So Brandon brought home a book for me called Time! it's just a small little book, but it's got a ton of tips on how to manage your time more efficiently. Today--I'm following a schedule and I feel so much better! I can see how much time I was wasting on little things like PINTEREST, checking my email too often, and watching TV.

Do any of you follow a schedule every day?

Are you? I have everything I need to do on a large, large list. I write down everything--doesn't mean anything gets done though! haha And Pinterest is the perfect place to find people who love lists like me! I've been finding all kinds of planners, printables, etc. Pinterest is seriously addicting. Are you on there?

So I finally have some stuff to show you...

Here's a layout I did for 2peas Design School class. My Design rule was Emphasis. I chose to emphasis my title--on the left.

And some exciting news--they've asked me and a couple other GG's to fill in for Kristina's Finally Friday videos. This was my first one--it's not that great. But I'm sure I'll get a lot better. Check it out here.

This first card is made using the Tombow adhesive runner and foam dots! loooove me some foam dots! I used Echo Park's Playground collection.

This one is fun--I used the For the Record Collection for this card. Again I used the Tombow adhesive runner and foam dots.

And last, I used Echo Parks Little boy collection here with the Tombow Adhesive Runner and foam dots as well.

I'm off to enjoy a camping weekend with my little family! The boys are so excited to go, they've packed their frisbee, their baseball stuff, some cars, games, and transformers. We are planning on going swimming and hiking too--that's what I'm excited about! Hopefully I'll get some good pictures too!

Geeezzzz, that was fast!

I just went school shopping for Logan the other day--how fast has this summer gone by? GEEZ! It feels like it JUST started! I think I need to live it up the next couple of weeks before school starts--head off the the lake, go camping one more time, run through the sprinklers, roast some smores, and a TON of other things!

We had a busy busy weekend--we spent Saturday building a new deck. It's looking so nice, even though we've run into a few problems, which would be par for the course for us! We can't do any home improvement projects without running into more than a couple of those! :) I can't wait to get it all done and stained this week and set up our patio furniture.

Logan's birthday is coming up in a couple week and we're busy making invitations, getting decorations, and planning a sports party for him. We even rented a cotton candy machine--that's the part I'm excited about! haha Lets see just how fat Kandis can get in one day! ;)

Some BIG news....

I'm giddy and so so excited to be asked to join the in-house design team for Echo Park!! I've had to keep in under wraps for a while now and I'm just bursting! haha I've always been in love with Echo Park's papers so it's such an honor to design for them! And with CHA here that means new lines coming out! Wanna see???

This one has to me my favorite new line. It's called The Apothecary Emporium--and with my fetish for all things Halloween--you know how much I'll be using this line! :)

Because I was gone on vacation for so long I had to hurry and send off my CHA projects and didn't get a chance to photograph them before I mailed them, but I do have a little card to show you for each line. Here's one for The Apothecary Emporium:

The next line is Victoria Gardens--so sweet and pretty! Very shabby chic!

A getaway

We just got back from our vacation in Seattle! It was so good to see family and friends! A much needed catch-up for us all! I hope you all had a fantastic 4th! I'll have to post pics from our day later--and from our vacation. I feel like I've been gone forever--I came home and my garden looked totally different and is in need of much weeding, and I have lots of work to catch up on! not to mention all the laundry! haha

Day 2:

I'll admit it.... I have a serious sugar addiction. SERIOUS. addiction. For the past week I've been craving Captain Crunch with Crunch berries. Good thing I have a large supply of them thanks to couponing! Nothing like starting your day with a big bowl of sugar! Maybe that's why I have no energy lately..... ya think?

So I have a crazy goal--maybe I told you?-- to make 100 cards this month. My scrap room is seriously overflowing with paper, embellies and more. It's time to put them to use! So here's a couple more that I made this week:

This one I used up an old kraft envelope, journaling tag, and a seriously old Making Memories flower!

And I think this old diecut star is from BoBunny---finally has a home now!

I've been watching a couple photographers do a 365 of self portraits. I think it's soooo cool--and WAY out of my comfort zone! That's why I'm the one taking the pictures, so I don't have to be in them! But I'm going to start one anyways because I want my children to see me in pictures when they get older. So.... Day 1

An undedited pic of me--a little yellow! ;) I took this pic last week when I tried out a new hair style and LOVED it! So my day today was good--a little stressful-- but good. I spent the day cleaning my house and getting cards ready for girl's card night at my house (we do it once a month). Logan had a T-ball game so we got to head on over to the park and watch him hit the ball the farthest he's ever hit it--really exciting for him! The Girls all came over at 8pm and we chatted, ate some brownies, and made cards all night!

So now on to crafty stuff...

Down on the farm...

We had so much fun last week down on the Venice farm. We headed down to Venice, UT to see Brandon's grandparents and cousins. The boys had so much fun--life on a farm is so fun for boys! They had fun looking at the animals (they had to walk past the goats everyday), climbing fences, squishing their feet in the mud, throwing rocks in the river, and playing like crazy!

I have a few crafty things for you today-- Here's a couple layouts I did for 2peas. You really need to check out the designer garden--chuck full of crazy inspiration! Those girls make me want to try new things everyday! Oh, and have you checked out the new cardmaking and stamping galleries? I'm addicted. I think I check it every hour! Yummy cards everyone is posting!!

And here's my projects using Pixie Dust Paperie's June "Summer of Love" kit-- this kit was so fun to work with--all the pinks and blacks! I loved those little silhouettes--really fun to cut out and use on cards! YOu will love every single detail in this kit--even the soft feathers! ;)

Creativity time...

I've slacked off long enough.... enough procrastinating..... you need to get some projects done Kandis!!!

Sometimes I just get into that scrapbooking funk where I just can't create anything and all my motivation is gone. I know you all get it too--so frustrating. So I've been working on some other projects--a baby afghan, reading a new book, and some other random things. Now, I've got to get to work!

So here's a card I made with the May Pixie Dust Paperie kit--I just love those little flowers---pink and girly! :)

Poor baby Cooper...

Last Tuesday I woke up at 4am to find Cooper burning up. I took his temperature and it read 101. So I called the Dr and they told me to take him to the ER. Turns out they wanted to hospitalize him for 48 hours because they thought he might have Meningitis. Cooper only had a fever, and no reason for it--no ear infection, no cold, no flu, etc. So they were worried about him. He had to have blood tests, urine tests, and two Spinal taps. Poor guy. It just about killed me. The thing he hated the most was his little IV--it kept getting folded back on its self and the nurses would have to mess with it to get it going again and he did NOT like it!

We are home now--glad to be away from the hospital. I think Cooper is glad to see his brothers again--even if they are tackling him all the time! :)

Seeds, seeds, and more seeds...

It's that time again.... planting time! I just LOVE flowers. This year I built a seed starting rack for my birthday--with the help of an amazing husband who puts up with my crazy notions to build shelves in the basement with lights for my seeds! :) I've got 300 little seedlings growing--they are getting to be good sized now. I have yellow and red yarrow, Lupine, Delphinium, daisies, Purple Coneflower, Mexican Hats, Lamb's Ear, Lavendar, Rose Campion, Zinnias, African Daisy, Bachelor Buttons, and Coreopis. I'm really excited to get them ready for my garden! What are you growing?

I have a card for you today--I used the La Dolce Vita kit from Pixie Dust Paperie for this card. I just love those satin ruffles!

Clean, organize, and throw out...

That's what we need to do around here! I'm getting that spring cleaning itch! The boys clothes need to be organized and sorted, I need to see what summer clothes still fit them and buy new ones, the blinds all need to be cleaned, the garage needs to be organized, the gardens need to be weeded.... the list goes on and on. I'm itching to get it all done!

I do have a couple new things for you today....

Here's another layout using the Pixie Dust Paperie La Dolce Vita kit. So fun--I just love all the colors. I did a girly page with my sweet nieces and my sister.

And here's my little guys all dressed up for Easter. I had so much fun making their outfits this year. Love those hats! This layout is for Twopeas--go check out the designer garden, you'll drool over all the gorgeous layouts the girls have made!

Happy Mother's day!

Oh, what a wonderful day Mother's day is! I love that we take a day just to tell our mom's how much they mean to us! I've been thinking of my own mother today and remembering all the fun things we did, the lesson's she taught me, the trials I put her through, the hard times and the good times. I could not ask for a better mother. She has been the best example to me throughout every moment in my life. So I called her up and told her I love her... hope you got the chance to do the same for your mom!

I had a wonderful mother's day--the boys spoiled me so much! Brandon made me some Cinnamon Crumb Cake for breakfast, let me sleep in, changed all the baby's diapers, helped the boys clean the house, and just plain spoiled me!! I also got a ton of new flowers for my garden--Honeysuckle, Wisteria, Sweet Autumn Clematis, Forget me nots, Salvia, and Daisies. I'm so excited to see them grow--hopefully I won't kill them! :)

The boys let me take a picture with them--no serious pictures around this house!!! Oh, and do you see my new look? I'm a blonde now! Yikes! I'm not quite sure about it yet...

And I found this picture of Landen when he was just a few weeks old and I couldn't believe how much he looks like Cooper--cooper just has a little more hair! haha craziness!

So sweet...

Sorry I haven't been around in a while--just taking some time to snuggle, adore, and inhale Cooper's baby scent! It's only been 5 weeks and he's already changing so much--his little legs and cheeks have started to chunk out! love that!

I have a couple things to share from Pixie Dust Paperie's May kit--you are going to love this kit! I just drooled and drooled over it!

Aren't those ruffles dreamy? I just had to stick them all on one card--looks like a skirt I'd love to have! I also glued some into a circle and added a sparkly gemstone brad to the middle for a flower!

I love how all of these elements can be taken to the boyish side too--I just spritzed my Pink Paislee sticker with paprika glimmer mist and it gave it more of a rustic look that I matched up with teal and yellow papers.

Have you seen the new Pixie Dust Paperie kit this month? So fun--I love all the little trinkets in it! Look at those fun buttons! They were my favorite! You have to go check out all the other designer's work over at their blog.

I made a cute little flower with the cupcake liners. I just used the word day so that later when I go to give it to someone I can fill it in.

I love these Girls' paperie letters--fun and vintage. I ran them up the side of my photos to create an alphabet.

A week and a half...

Until our little bundle of joy is due.

I'm miserable. My hips ache, my sciatic is acting up to where I can barely walk, and I'm still peeing every 10 minutes. Plus I'm having a hard time sleeping--which is normal. I can be exhausted all day and still not be able to sleep.

But I'm having so much fun making little things for him. We set up his room last night and I'm working on the finishing touches--frames, paintings, etc. But It's soooo cute! I can't wait to have him in there! I just walk in and see the little burp cloths, diapers, etc and get all excited.

Since I have NO energy-- my scrapping has been a little slow! ;) But I do have a couple pictures of the last few weeks to share:

Logan makes a Leprechaun hat every year at school and we deliver treats to his friends with it on.

the growing list

everyday I get a couple things crossed off my "to-do" list before the baby comes... however I seem to add two or three things every day that I see online that I just have to make for him! I made him the cutest little hat today. Brandon came home and I showed him and he said, "You really made that? It looks like you bought it!" haha Love it! My sewing skills are starting to improve! (trust me--they could only improve)

Running away?

I do. Especially these past four days. Landen is driving me CRAZY!! It's like he has no hearing at all. And I've tried everything. I'm hoping this is the last bout of "two year old syndrome" that he has because I can't take it any longer. I even joked with Brandon about putting him in Daycare so I could get some rest. Brandon just laughed and said, "Whatever we need to do to keep you sane!"

And I have another couple of cards for you made with the Pixie Dust February Kit---love this October Afternoon Homemaker stuff, so vintagey and cute!

I'm off to make a darling little owl pillow for my sweet little one that's coming soon!

Working on it...

I've been trying to get everything ready for the new baby this past week. Making changing pad covers, burp cloths, crib skirts, etc. It's been fun, but tiring. I think this baby has sucked all the energy out of my body! I don't have long now--and the thought scares me! three boys! What will I do? I guess I better start learning to make machine gun noises!

It's friday!!!

Always a reason to celebrate!!

I love spending time with my hubby and I'm so happy when the weekend comes and we get to hang out together. Even if it's just sitting on the couch with the boys. At least we're together. This weekend we're going to be busy painting the baby's room, putting together the new crib, and hanging the window treatments. I'm making some curtains for his room today. I'm also making crib sheets, crib skirt, and everything else that's going in his room! I'm so excited to see how it all turns out!

Watch out for Shredder!

My boys have INSISTED that they watch Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles over and over and over again. And we only own two of the cartoons! I have the stupid theme song stuck in my head-and it's not even the cool old one. The new ninja turtles has a horrible theme song and the turtles eyes are creepy--they are just white. weird. I want my old turtles back!!

I get myself all worked up over posting on my blog. For some reason I have it in my head that it needs to be written perfectly and have wonderful photos to share. I need to do better--I'm going to start doing one small post a day!

On monday I started Karen Russell's photography class--totally loving it! I really want to be able to get candids of my boys--good ones where they aren't goofing off or running away from me! haha So hopefully you'll see more family photos on here!

I got the chance to play with my Core'dination's paper this past week--here's some of my feb. projects.

January Core projects

I've been thinking lately that at the age of 2 kids are the most annoying and funny people on the planet. Landen's been driving us CRAZY! He's potty trained now--which I'm sooo thankful for--BUT every time he goes to the bathroom we have to fight with him to get his undies and pants back on. WHY? Just because he thinks it's hilarious to see us get frustrated! Like I said before though--they are the funniest people. Landen is learning to break dance, which consists of throwing himself on the floor face first over and over again. And he sings while he's doing it--usually to the tune of I'm a Child of God. He gave Logan's zhu zhu pet a bath in his cereal bowl--poor things hair is all glued together. and he begs me to watch Justin' Beiber's Baby music video all the time. Funny kid.

Well, I've got a couple projects to share--my Core'dinations projects for January. If you haven't tried their cardstock--you must! They are soooo fun to distress!

Now I got to get ready for my nasty glucose test-- I almost throw up every time I have to do it! yuck! Wish me luck! ;)

Bring on the sunshine!

It's funny how the day after Christmas I'm dying for spring to get here--and fast! The snow is already driving me crazy. There is sunlight shining through our windows and it feels like spring time but the second you walk outside it's below zero. Ugh! So to make time go faster I'm buying flower seeds for my garden on ebay! haha Planning out my garden already!

I got to do a little scrapbooking the other night and here's a couple of the cards I came up with:

And I have a new goal for 2010-- well, two goals that is---the first one is to record my life better. I'm going to follow in Erin Cobb's (Pigbear) footsteps and try the One Frame a Day in 2011. Tinkering...

I've been having fun the past couple of days tinkering in my scrap room--which is amazing since I haven't felt motivated to scrap since I've been pregnant! I think cleaning my space helped a lot. Especially when I find odds and ends of fun scraps laying around just begging to be added to a pretty card! Here's some of my latest creations:

Have you been busy with your Christmas prep? I think I might have all my shopping done--at least for now! Now I'm making a huge grocery list of ingredients for a million Christmas goodies! Can't wait! I think I hear cinnamon rolls and scones calling my name... ;)

A hard weekend...

I've been watching Logan really closely these past two or three weeks and noticed that he's been going to the bathroom every 20-30 minutes. It got me concerned. I remembered my mother telling me that having to urinate frequently was a sign of Diabetes. So I went online to get the other symptoms. He was drinking water like crazy and hungry all the time. The night before Thanksgiving he wet the bed. He NEVER wets the bed. It was also on the list of symptoms. We called my sister-in-law, Magen--who is diabetic, and asked her to bring over her blood meter. When we tested him it read HI (which means any number over 500). A normal person should be around 80-140. We knew then something was wrong. Friday I took him into the dr. to confirm it. Sure enough he has Type 1 diabetes. Luckily the dr says we caught it one week before he would have been so sick he would have needed to be hospitalized. I thank my Heavenly Father for that--for letting me see the signs and feeling the urgency of his condition.

So now we are on a very hard journey. We have to check his blood by pricking his finger 5-10 times a day and give him insulin shots 4-7 times a day. It's a lot of poking and it truly breaks my heart each time we have to do it. Logan's been so good natured about it all. He's never cried or fought us. The hard part is that he gets confused and asks, "Why do you have to do that?" "Is my sickness gone yet?" even though we've explained it to him over and over. He is such a brave little boy. Every nurse that even meets him is amazed at how sweet he is. The two times that they had to draw blood from him (4 viles of blood) he watched them do it, didn't cry or fight at all. He got a teddy bear and a huge handful of stickers. They said they've never seen a child be so calm. He truly is my sweetheart.

We are now looking at different pumps instead of giving him shots all day. Hopefully we can find one we like and get it soon so we aren't poking him all the time.

I'm still struggling everyday with the emotions of finding out your child is sick. I heard someone say it's the "grieving of your child's perfect health." It's true. He's going to be just fine. He will live to be as old as anyone else. He's just going to have a lot more to do to stay healthy. You just never think it will happen to your child.

Hello everyone! Are you enjoying the 10" of snow that we got this weekend? I can't believe it's STILL coming down out there! Yesterday we took some time to get all our snow clothes on and have a little snowball fight. We made snow angels too. But can you believe that it snowed so long last night that it looks like the snow has NEVER been touched?! Craziness. I was going to head to the store today--looks like I'll be cozying up at home with some hot chocolate ( I've already had a cup today ;)!!

So if you're stuck in the house and need some creative inspiration... I've got a couple of cards I haven't posted on my blog yet. My scrap room is calling me today---maybe I'll actually get something done!

Mini Muffin Morning

We woke up this morning and it just felt right---had to have our mini muffins! Is there any easier way to put a smile on a little boy's face? They could hardly wait until they came out of the oven to eat them.

I think Logan ate the most--pounding down a total of 12 mini muffins!! haha

Sorry I've been gone so long. Life got away. We have some exciting news to share-- partly the reason I've been gone for a while is that I'm PREGNANT! yes, I know, a little scary! We just found out that it's a little boy. Not quite sure what I'm going to do with 3 of them! But we'll make it work! I've had horrible scatic pain the first 6-8 weeks. Now that I'm up and moving again, I can get back to my old life! ;)

Like the new blog look? I can not figure out for the life of me how to change the background. I've tried everyone's tutorials online and can't get it to work! ugh! Oh, well, we'll just have to settle for white. ;) But I'm liking it all a lot better!

Seems like I say that every other post. Haha. Life just gets away from me sometimes. Nothing new going on here, we did go down to Venice, UT to see Brandon's grandparents and cousins. It is so wonderful there--the simple farm life that I love. The boys had so much fun looking at the horses and feeding the goats. You could see the horses right out our bedroom window and Landen would wake up saying, "We see the horses, we see the horses." So we'd tromp out in our pj's and look at the horses feeding behind the fence. I'm still fixing up my pictures from the trip--so I'll have to post those another day. but I do have some cute new photos to share ;)

They are sooo goofy! They have been enjoying their summer around here--lots of popscicles, pool parties, BBQ's and family!

I hope you all had a wonderful 4th!! we did--lots of BBQ's, swimming, parades, fireworks, family and friends! The boys had a ball watching the BMX riders do flips and jumps off the ramp--Logan said, "mommy, don't be scared because when I get older I'm gonna do that!" yea, I'm really scared! haha oh, and he told me not to be afraid of the clowns--fat chance! ;)

Does it seem like this summer is FLYING by? Can you believe it's almost the fourth? I had plans all week to make Fourth of July crafts with my kiddos and we just had one thing after another to get done. Now I'm on the quest to find plain t-shirts for the boys. Micheals has them but they aren't in toddler sizes. here's the t-shirts I'm making the boys for the Fourth. so fun!

So did anyone else stay up WAY TOO LATE to see Eclipse? Wasn't it amazing. Edward has redeemed himself! ;)

I fell in love with photography a couple years ago. I begged my husband for a camera over and over again. He couldn't see what was wrong with his basic point and shoot. Once I had talked him into it, he took some pictures with the new camera and he said, "Why didn't we get this a LONG time ago." We love it. I love it. I capture the small moments of my children's lives that I'm going to, one day, forget when i'm old and gray. Even looking over the pictures I took last year I can see them growing through the pictures and watch their personalities shine through the photos. Fishy bag...

This month's theme over at the Hero blog is Summer fun and the fourth of July. I was asked to make a project to go along with the theme and I came up with these fantastic little recloseable snack bags. I sewed one up quickly out of canvas material and stamped my fish right on it. Instead of coloring it in, I stippled ink over them, layering colors to give it a watercolored look. Then I topped off my scales and bubbles with glossy accents to give them some texture. The best part about these is that I can take them on picnics, to the park, family reunions, etc, and my kids will always know which one is theirs! :)

I hope you have beautiful weather wherever you are! Enjoy some sunshine for me! And a steak too--my mouth still wont open very wide so I'm stuck with mashed potatoes, yogurt, and pancakes.

Thanks for the concern everyone! Sorry I've been gone for a while--went on a wonderful vaca to Seattle to see my family, then came home to get my wisdom teeth taken out. UGH! I'm horribly swollen on one side like a baboon. literally. My friend Marlyce pointed out that it's better that I have a face that looks like a baboon than a butt that looks like a baboon. I suppose she's right! LOL I'm not in too much pain cuz I'm hopped up on those fabulous pain pills!! Hopefully the swelling will go down so that I can actually talk and get back to my normal routine!

Logan gave me the most amazing mother's day card--a picture of me made of construction paper and glue on the front and a little questionaire about me in the middle. Here it is--I love it.

And here's the questions he answered about me.

His teacher said he was just so funny when she asked him how old I was that she just had to write it down. hilarious. I love mother's day!! haha

All week this video has been on my mind. No one tells you when you become a mother you experience so much guilt over feeling not good enough as a mother. I struggle with it all the time. We had some amazing talks on mothers today at church and the words to this video went over and over though my head.

So for all the mothers out there-- enjoy this. It will make you feel a little better...

My favorite part is when she says, you are writing the only story of your life.

I'm so grateful to be a part of your lives Logan and Landen. I hope that I can love you enough to help you write it the way it should be written. :)

Did you see Biggest Loser tonight? Craziness! I loved Sam--really inspiring, although he did get a bit cocky at times, but I NEVER expected to see him end up with Stephanie. She wasn't my favorite person on the show--but you just never know who will end up with who right? haha I'm loving this season and I'll be so sad when it's over!

So I'm right in the middle of fixing up my blog--sorry it's kind of a mess. I need to make a new header but I'm nervous. I want it to look great--I've got my work cut out for me! :)

HAPPY NSD!

A little late--it's the end of the day, but at least i didn't miss it! ;)

Brandon had Hernia surgery on Wednesday and I've been playing single mom, nurse, wife, housekeeper, and taxi all week. So pardon the no posts! he's recovering nicely, it's just hard on him to be in bed for so long--makes him really grumpy! I'm happy to be spoiling him rotten though because in a few weeks I'm getting my wisdom teeth taken out and I'm going to be in his position! And I like to get spoiled haha!!
Hero Arts posted some amazing layout inspiration on their blog--Robin Werlich, Sheri Reguly, Nichol Magouirk, Vicki Boutin, and me. I'm so inspired by all of their layouts--I can't wait to get a little free time around here to get a couple done!

At the beginning of spring each year I get really excited to plant my flowers and veggies. It's been years since we got to do a veggie garden!! Now I just have to wait until the chance of frost clears. I hate that!! I'm ready to plant now! :) I have all my flowers picked out and I know where I want them in the garden. I love the country cottage look--here's some of the flowers I'll be planting:

Salty goodness...

Just a lazy day around here--cleaning up the house, maybe do some scrapbooking--I have a ton of pictures in a pile to work on! It's raining today--which is okay because it's still warm :)! I found this recipe for soft pretzels so we're going to be adventurous and make some up today. Logan is soooo excited to tie his "into knots and circles." LOL

So I've been doing P90X for the last couple months and I've lost 15 lbs--which is wonderful. I feel so much better, but I have 15 more pounds to go to get to where I was a year and a half ago. The last month and a half I've stayed at the exact same weight. Didn't move at all. I was seriously frustrated that I work out everday, watch what I eat and nothing was happening. I went online and checked reasons for plateauing--turns out I'm not eating enough calories! ;) I did some serious calorie counting yesterday and found that I was 3-400 calories under which was making my body hold on to my fat stores. So I ate all my calories--felt full--and woke up this morning to see I had dropped a pound! YIPPPEEEEE!!! Here's to eating more and losing weight! LOL

Spring is here? We've had 4 beautiful days in a row--yesterday it got to 75 degrees! Yippeee! Now I'm getting excited to plant our veggie garden and all my flowers--I have big ideas! We'll see how fast they come together--seeing as how we still need to plant our grass in the backyard! We're almost there though--I spent the last three days weeding and raking the rocks. We did a lot of the work last year so we don't have much to do!

I was watching The Best Thing I Ever Ate on food network last night (amazing.) and they talked about a smores pie. oh, man did it look like heaven. Here's the closest recipe I could find to match it--I've GOT to try it--might even polish the WHOLE thing off myself! ;)

Today was great--we cleaned out the garage, washed the van, started on the backyard, and then we went to McDonalds to get a happy meal for each of the boys--just for the How to Train Your Dragon toy! They were so excited. Then we headed out for the movie! It was wonderful! We will definitely buy it when it comes out! Logan now wants to be a dragon. Too bad i don't have a dragon costume--I know he would wear it for a week straight if I did! haha

Here's my card I did for the Hero blog this week. They had a hybrid week--mixing Hero Arts digi stamps with paper product. It was so fun! The digi stamp is in the back--it's actually a friendship definition, but I cut off the friendship words and now it just looks like dictionary paper! You can download it at 2peas for free!

my socks get wet.

I have to change them IMMEDIATELY!! Probably changed them at least 20 times today--after walking in the water the boys splashed out of the tub, the water they dripped down the fridge into a puddle on the floor, the water they played in the sink with when they were supposed to wash their hands for dinner.... I think I have another 3 loads of socks to launder. LOL Good thing I have enough! ;)

You might think I'm crazy--I would after reading that list! But I think it's funny to read them after a hard day and think about how great my life is. It's always funny AFTER they are asleep in bed and you get a little break! haha

I have two great children that keep me running around. They are healthy and happy and you should see the looks on their faces and smiles they have when they know they are up to no good--boys!

I really do have good intentions.

I buy all this stuff for my house--mostly used items from thrift stores that I revamp, but they they sit in my garage. Waiting to find a place somewhere in my home. Maybe I'm scared of the work it will take to build my shelves or my (going to be) amazing wall art. Maybe I'm just lazy--yea, that's probably it. A little worried about messing it all up--that's definitely a factor as well.

I made them last night and they are pure heaven. I have to say that they are the best the first day, but great the next too! Although the batter was so wonderful that I ate it by the spoonful. I could have been happy with just that!

Yep. I'm 27 already!

-woke up to three big hugs from my boys this morning!

-Ate a milky way for breakfast... and a sundae for lunch.

-Landen gave me a box of Good and Plentys (one of my favs). Brandon wrapped it up for me, but as Landen handed it to me, he pulled it out of the bag and said, "LOOK mommy!! Look!!"

-Logan got me a small bubblegum machine. When he handed me the bag he said, "you can share, right mommy?" so cute.

-Brandon gave me a card game and cash money for some serious shopping! Thanks babe!

-Dropped the kiddos off at grandma and grandpa's for a hot date.

-Headed out to Red Robin and then to Alice in Wonderland. LOVED it! We looked hot in our 3D glasses too--should have taken a picture of that! ;)

-Paid $8 to eat half a bucket of popcorn--- worth it.

-read emails, texts, cards, and facebook comments from my friends and family! I had a great day!

Winner Winner--Chicken Dinner!

Ever have one of those recipes handed to you that you thought "WHERE has this been all my life?"

This is mine.

My sweet sister sent me her recipe for White Chicken Chili--AMAZING. truly.

We made it for dinner tonight--so I thought I'd share!

What you need:

Dump it all in the pot: (Ignore my fat legs in the reflection--about as flattering as a circus mirror!)

Serve it up! and dig in! :)

Nothing I want to eat more as I watch the snow melt away in our backyard! I'm trying to get in a couple more soup/stew days before spring finally gets here!

White chicken Chili
-1/2 jar green salsa
-1/2 jar red salsa
-McCormick's White chicken chili seasoning packet
- 2 cups Great Northern white beans*
-2 cans cream of chicken soup or cream of mushroom
-2 cups water
-2 cups corn
-about 3 chicken breasts cooked and cubed

* you can use two cans of beans instead of dried. I pop my dried beans in the slow cooker and fill it up with water the night before and let them simmer on low all night. In the morning I drain them and put them in the fridge until dinner time. (This saves me a couple bucks and it's easy to do!)

Dump all of the ingredients in your pot and heat until warmed through. Simmer at least 15 minutes.

Top with a sprinkling of cilantro-- the best!

Big Yellow School Bus...

Even though Logan's grandma lives right down the street from school, he still likes to ride the bus with his friends! I woke Landen up from his nap a little early to drive over in time to catch a picture of him getting off the bus.

Finger Paint anyone?

We all have stuffy noses today--but little Landen has it the worst! When you're 2, everything is worse! LOL So we stayed in the house today--watched some movies, had some popcorn, and did a little finger painting!

A little messy? I think so!

LOVE. it.Oh, good--as if you didn't have enough paint on your body!

Using gobs of paint is really the only way to do it--right?

Is there something on my onesie?

in coupons!

I haven't been cutting them and putting them in my binder the last couple weeks. So they stacked up on me. That's my goal for tonight--take care of that pile sitting on my counter.

Ever feel like creating--but your eyes just won't stay open? Man, I'm tired. Don't know why, but I think I'll head off to bed and hope for some energy tomorrow!

A couple projects for you--both of these cards I used the Hero Arts branch stamp on--first one, I stamped on vellum and cut it out! really love this look--I'll have to use it more in the future! Melissa Frances tag--so cute! Twill, buttons, buttons, more buttons, and some machine stitching on there!

This is one of my favorite cards right now--lots of pink! Just some random goodies on here--I scored a HUGE stash of vintage sheet music a couple weeks ago, so I'm putting it to good use. Making Memories tag, hero Arts stamps, Tattered Angels chipboard frame, Amy Butler papers.

movin' through mud.

It's just one of those days when you feel like you're working all day and NOTHING is getting done. My to-do list is still full and I'm out of breath from running around the house. grr. I think I need a break--perfect time to blog! LOL

I don't think I shared this layout on my blog yet--this one was for 2peas. I adore this picture of my Landen boy. He loves running through the grass in the summer! Hero Arts stamps, Scenic Route patterned papers, Making Memories calendar and letter stickers, Doodlebug chipboard, and a little glitter for some bling!

A sweet congrats card filled with Amy Butler papers, pearls, stamps from hero Arts, lace, button from jenni bowlin, diecuts from K&Co. and some vintage twill tape in the back.
And a baby card--I love crowns, but I don't use them much. Not sure why, but I love the mix of baby blue with the soft creams. stamps and pearls from hero Arts, papers and tickets by Melissa Frances, chipboard crown from tattered Angels, button, lace, and some machine stitching!

On the fly!

I've never been great at being organized--I mean, I think my house is cleaner and more organized than most, but I'm never happy with it and it seems like we collect a lot of "stuff". So I was on the internet searching for ways to help me get more organized when I came across flylady.net. So cool. She's got a morning/night routine, then zone cleaning for the house and everything! It's set up so that cleaning doesn't have to take over our lives, and we can enjoy more time with our family! I'm all about that! So here's to my first day on the program--I'm sure there will be days that I don't do so hot, but it's a step in the right direction!
I was looking through my patterned papers the other day and came across this pink lattice one--so cute. I had to sit right down and do a page of my little niece! Pink, pink, pink! love it! Hero Arts stamps, K&Co. paper and Making Memories paper, lace, bling, pearls by Jenni Bowlin.
