Shake your groove thang!

I keep thinking of this song as we're trying to get back into some kind of a groove around here. Seems like summertime can throw that all out of wack! A routine will be a much needed thing! So as I try to re-organize and clean up our house, I'll be shakin' my booty to this song!

We had a wonderful vacation with my family up in Seattle last week--really enjoyed seeing my family and spending some relaxing time with them! Then we came home to the flu. My two boys and I got so sick for a couple days--luckily it's over and we're back to your normal busy selves, but it sure makes you appreciate good health!! :) Many prayers of thanks for that...

So now that I'm totally behind on EVERYTHING-- here's a couple cards I've made!!

A birthday, 911, and Poison Control...

So, this is the reason I haven't posted in a while...

Logan turned 4 on Sunday! YAY! I can't believe how big he is! Seems like he grows a foot each year! He informed me on the way to a friends house, "mom, now that I'm four, I'm no longer scared of dogs." Yet when we were over there, he ran from the dog and jumped into my arms. haha It might take another year to shake that fear! He got totally spoiled and ate lots of cake (always love that part!)

Then we lost him. My parents were in town and we were all busy making curtains and finishing the basement. I let him ride his new bike in the driveway while we had the door open. I went outside after a while and he was gone. The bike was there, the scooter was there, and I started yelling for him. My whole family went out and searched the neighborhood. When we didn't find him, I thought for sure someone had taken him--needless to say I was BAWLING. I screamed for him in the house and he wasn't in any of the rooms, so I called 911. Before I could sob out my address to the poor operator, my grandma came running out with him. He had gotten into my scrap room, dumped a bottle of paint on the floor, and thinking he was in trouble, hid in the closet.... I was happy to see him... not so happy about my floor. I think he learned his lesson when daddy talked to him about why mommy was crying so much.

oh, and it's not over.... then a couple days ago I was finishing up some projects and Landen was crying for me... as usual. I shut the door for 5 minutes so I could finish up some work on the computer and then I hear him go from crying to screaming. I still thought he just wanted me, so I ignored him (I know, what a great mom huh??) then Logan said, "Mom, he's got glitter in his eyes!" WHAT? I don't have any glitter out in the living room. I opened the door to find him with foam all over his eyes. He had squirted Dawn dishsoap in his eyes and then kept rubbing at it until it foamed up. So then I had the wonderful task of calling Poison control who told me to do a 15 minute flush of water in his eyes. yea, imagine how fun that is. I think I still have scratches on my arm. BUt, it's over and now my dishsoap is no longer under my cabinet. :)

now that you all think I'm a horrible mom.... LOL

I have my August Coredinations projects to show you--I had so much fun creating these! All the embellishments and patterned paper is from My Little Shoebox. YUM!

This saying totally fits Logan-- I'm kinda a BIG DEAL! This is also a scraplift of Lisa Truesdell from the June Scrapbook Trends. LOVE her work!

Summery summertime

I know--that was a weird title. I'm all about the weird. LOL

We've been having so much fun with my parents and grandparents here, but unfortunately they have to pack up and leave us tomorrow. However, our house is wired, my scrap room has laminate floors, and I have curtains almost made! yay!

They just couldn't leave without grabbing a snowshack and hitting up a buffet! Craigo's is one of our favorites--6 types of dessert pizza--can't beat that! And my grandpa is all about the pizza!

The comfort of family

My family is in town... hence the lacking of posts! My mom and dad came to help us finish our basement, make curtains, figure out the sprinkler system, and whatever else comes up. Isn't that so great? My grandparents came today as well to help out. It's so nice to have them here to talk to as well--miss them a ton. So I've been spending my time cooking, sewing, and running to stores with my mommy. ;)

Last week we had a fun Monochromatic challenge over on the Hero Blog. It really was a challenge, but I LOVED everyone's work--cards, layouts, and more! I hope you got a chance to go over and play. Check out the blog this week for sneak peeks of the upcoming catalog! (oh, and they came out with some GREAT digital stamps--makes me want to take up digital scrappin'!!)

Sweet sounds...

I was thinking back on my day--pretty uneventful, but I was reminded of a couple sounds that meant my children were happy.

-Brandon tried to wash the dirt off of Landen's feet with a wet wipe and he giggled like crazy.
-Logan running around with his pretend broom making "broom" noises--not sure how a broom sounds, hehe.
-Landen babbling on and on when we were raking rocks in the backyard. He seemed to be telling us how to scoop the rocks, then he would throw one in the wheelbarrow.
-Logan running up to me saying, "Mommy!! I DID IT!! I cleaned my room!!" (Yea, I was most excited about that one!! LOL)

Here's a layout I made for Melissa Frances as well. Love all the blues and greens with the vintage frame and wings. Really, really cool stuff that she makes. Have I said that before?? I wouldn't be surprised! LOVE it all!!

One in a Million

I was asked to be Melissa Frances's Guest Designer for July!! Check out the blog. I was thrilled to play with their FABULOUS product. It's really HARD to find them in Idaho Falls, so you can imagine my joy when I got a box full of it all!!

Here's my first project--a girly card set filled with glitter, hearts, gems, ribbon, and pink!!

Help!! Help!!

where, oh, where has my creativity gone???? Seems like I sit at my desk for hours not making a thing and then I just get mad and walk away. I think it's partly to do with the fact that I'm still waiting for my scrap room to get finished so nothing is organized right now. And if I can't get to it, then I can't use it!! Wish I could have some kind of spark though--sure could use a boost!!

We've had some crazy couple weeks around here. I had the flu for a couple days--can't really complain since it's been a LONG time since I've been sick. Then we headed out of town for a family reunion, which was great, until we came home. About 20 min. away from our exit to Idaho Falls, we had a tire blow out. Then Brandon couldn't get the spare out. two hours later... a police man, a tow truck and another generous stranger couldn't get it out either. Something is faulty with the spare. A lot of people with the same van are complaining about the same thing. The guy at the shop said all of our tires were about to blow so we had to replace them all. not a HUGE fan of paying $800 for tow and tires at the drop of a hat. At least we were safe and we're home now. (oh, and then yesterday on of our tires went flat. how fun... another trip to the shop!!)

As I mentioned in the last post, Hero Arts is doing some crazy cool stuff this week on the blog. They completely changed the website and it looks great!! I was able to lift a project from the website and I chose a card from the fabulous Tami Hartley. She is soooo good at making cards! I drool over everything she makes! Here's my take on one of her creations.

A new Look

There's a new look coming to the Hero Arts website this wednesday! The celebration starts today on the blog with a week full of inspiration and DOUBLE prizes! Red, white, and blue

Happy Fourth Everyone!!

I hope your day was filled with BBQ's, fireworks, and family!! We just love packing up the family and heading out to see the Idaho falls parade and fireworks. Logan was still too scared to get close to the parade, but he talked about it all day! We enjoyed a BBQ of hamburgers, hotdogs, watermelon, cherries, chips and dip.... and peach pie for dessert! YUM! another reason to LOVE this holiday!

I'm Transformed.

Logan got out some road cones and stuck them on his hands along with my salad spinner for a hat and ran around the house making gun noises. Then he'd say (in his best robot voice) "I'm Transformed!" He means he's a Transformer. haha He's never seen it or even the cartoons, but he thinks that's the name for a robot. Then Landen had to join in. He's so funny cuz he just runs after his brother copying everything he does. so cute.

Finally feeling a little creative today--so I gotta go get some fun stuff made!! Here's my CPS card for the week. We were sponsored by Renaissance by Design. I love that little notes stamp--perfect for any kind of card! Oh, and have you seen those darling new diecuts from K&Co?? Just snagged me some. That's where the apple and flower are from!
