mud, rocks, weeds, and pink bicycles

We're STILL trying to weed, and de-rock our backyard so that we can start laying down sod. It's the never ending job. I swear the land out here is a layer of rock, then a thin layer of dirt, then about two feet of solid rock. We don't have to get all the rock out, just the big ones, but there's sooo many of them!! Anyone want to come work?? haha

Logan has been OBSESSED with this pink bicycle that grandma has at her house. I swear he'd pick it over any boy bike!! He's secretly getting a bike for his birthday in a month, so we're excited to see him on something other than a barbie bike!

I really needed to make more "boyish" cards for my stash, so here's some that I came up with!
Have a wonderful day--go ride your bike!

Make New Friends

We were invited to a little pool party with our new neighbors. They have the sweetest little girl. I was watching them splash each other and play tag in the yard and I was amazed at how fast children make new friends. All it takes is, "Hi, I'm Logan!" and poof!, instant friend. I wish my life was still like that. Logan kept talking about the kids he met all day long. Everyone is his "best friend"--makes me giggle when he says, "She's my best friend in the whole world!" how great is that??? Everyone wants a friend right?? Aaaa, to be a kid again!

Shari Carroll is hosting the Hero Arts Blog this week and she's talking about color combinations. It's really fun to see what everyone has come up with! Shari's soooo good, and I always get a kick out of seeing the creations she makes!! amazing. Here's a layout I made using the yellow and purple combination. (those are my sweet niece's tiny feet!!)

Here's a card I made using the new Friends sentiments by Hero Arts. you can find more information here.
I hope you have a great day and make a new friend!! :)

Tickles and German Chocolate Cake

We had a wonderful father's day as I hope you did too! I always let Brandon pick two or three desserts he wants me to make. It's a good excuse to bake.. and to eat! hehe This year he picked Key Lime Bars and German Chocolate Cupcakes. It was the perfect quiet day filled with breakfast burritos, church, gummy dinosaurs, chinese food, presents, sunglasses, and lots of tickle fights! My boys just adore their dad... as do I!

Here's a couple projects to share. I've been having fun with my pictures and I got a couple more layouts done.
Love that apple stamp and that sentiment stamp from Hero Arts.
And here's one of some older pics of my Logan mixin' up some brownies!!

Have a fabulous night!!

A ray of sunshine

This is our first sunny day in three weeks. My goodness, it's JUNE! You'd think we'd be dying of heat by now. But not this year. We haven't had a chance to do any yard work or anything in forever. Next week should be sunny though so we're looking forward to that. Maybe we'll get our sod and have a yard to play in!! My boys won't know what to do with themselves!

It amazes me how much "stuff" I have in my scrap room. I really need to start using it all. I usually stick with my basics and I need to dig into my stash! Here's a couple cards where I did that:

Both used Hero Arts stamps and Core'dinations Cardstock!!

Have a great day!

Can't beat a free movie!

Today I'm taking Logan to the movies for their free childrens summer movie program. I love movies, so I'm excited to go as well. He even picked out his favorite candy--Nerds. Gotta have them! I think they're showing Veggie Tales. It should be fun to go just the two of us!

I'm such a slacker. I totally forgot to post my Core'dinations monthly projects. Have you had the chance to try their cardstock?? YUMMY. You have to! It's the coolest! Especially when you use your cuttlebug!

Have a wonderful Tuesday!!

Junk Junkie

Spent the morning combing through garage sales. I LOVE old stuff. The kind you can take, sand down, and paint a cool color. Finally found a long bookshelf for my boys room. Totally needs to be redone, but I got it for $5! Can't beat that--even at walmart! My hubby always gets a chuckle when I bring home the most random things!

Just messin' around with my supplies lately. Kinda liked these fun cards! I think they will be great for kids!
Have yourself a great day!

Buzz, buzz

Busy Busy Bee. Just running around here trying to get one thing or another done. I've got some scrappy projects to finish up and I caught the "organizing" bug that only lasts for about a day or two, so I had to take advantage and clear out the last boxes in these rooms. Feels good. But now I'm exhausted.

Logan cracked me up today when he found the flashlight and turned the lights off. He stuck it under his chin and told me this SCARY story (remember he's 3): "It was a dark night. There was a little boy in a castle with a sword. Then there was a booby trap and the boy took out his sword and cut the rock in half. Then he put the sword back in it's case. The end." The whole time he used a scary voice too--so funny. I tried really hard not to laugh.

Here's a pic of the story teller

And some scrappy projects just for kicks!
Found this awesome vintage kids book at the thrift store the other day for .50. can't beat that!

Have a wonderful night!!

Spread a little love

I occasionally get bad days. Everyone does. But then I get those few days that I just feel content with my life the way it is. There is no jealousy of others, no wanting for more, I'm just happy. That was my day today. I was sitting in church with my wiggly boys and I felt a smile tug at the corners of my mouth and I just felt that contentment spread through my body. I tried to hold on to that feeling throughout the day. It seems that I always have something to do or to worry about that I rarely feel that. So it was a good day! :) nothin' special, just happy to be me for once! LOL

Here's a fun layout that I made the other night! I've had that Heather Bailey paper sitting next to my desk and I've been DYING to do a girly layout. I put together a little row of pictures of my Sister in law and her hubby. Here's my chance!! Hero Arts stamps all over here too! Melissa Frances frame--isn't it the sweetest?? She has the COOLEST embellies ever!

Have a fabulous night--I'm staying up to try to get me a great Old Navy Coupon! Anyone else snagged one yet??

endless, endless weeds.

We keep weeding. Every week we spend hours and hours on our knees and they just seem to be growing faster than we can pluck them up. grrrrr.... I should just give in and buy some spray, but I'm too cheap. Plus we got a million little "projects" around the house that I'd rather put the money towards. Until then, the battle of the weeds is not over. I will win...

I can't believe it, but I actually got some layouts done--I know, a shocker. I'm always so happy when I get a few all finished and put them up on my wall to stare at. It's even better when I like them! LOL :) I'll get some pics tomorrow and post them!

Here's some more cards for ya--are you sick of cards yet?? Never.

CPS 118-- Come play along, such a fun sketch!

My CPS card from last week.
Hope you have a wonderful day!

Craziness...

Last thursday I got a call from my Sister In Law and she said, "Are you sitting down? Greg and I are getting married on Sunday at 4:30." WHAT??? Well, it's about time you two! We're happy for the newly married couple. It was a small wedding with no decor or anything, but we had an ice cream bar and a beautiful backyard! It was great weather and everything turned out perfectly.

Here's some pictures of the happy couple:

And I got a few cards done--so fun!

Have a wonderful day--I'm going to try to get some relaxing in!!
